HIV/AIDS

Being diagnosed with HIV/AIDs can be very difficult but it is not a death sentence. Modern medicine can give infected individuals long, normal lives. These medications are often free so never hesitate to be tested. It can truly save your life.

  • If you have HIV/AIDs it is the law that you let every single sexual partner know that you have HIV/AIDS

  • If you and your partner both have HIV/AIDs this does not mean that you don’t have to use a condom. There are various strains of HIV that can be resistant to your medication.

  • If you use IV drugs, often have unprotected sex, pay or are paid for sex, or as a man that has sex with men, you may qualify for pre-exposure prophylaxis, or PrEP. This is a medication that can keep you from getting HIV/AIDS. Being honest with your doctor could help keep you from getting this HIV/AIDS.
