A stroke is when blood flow is cut off to any part of your brain. This lack of oxygen causes serious damage to the brain. Symptoms usually come on suddenly and unexpectedly. Face – Does the person's face look uneven or droop on one side?

Arm – Does the person have weakness or numbness in one or both arms?

Speech – Is the person having trouble speaking or do they sound strange?

Time – If you notice any of these, it’s time to call 911.
